Lilac Love

I love love love Lilacs and I am quite fond of potholders.
A lilac inspired potholder - yes a great idea!!

I had to scrounge around the bottom of the yarn baskets to gather enough pinky purply variety, add a touch of cream and begin. Bound it all together with a bright leafy green and viola  - a Lilac inspired potholder is born.

Happy Hippy

This is my (biggest) little girl - just recently turned four.
I made this headband for her late last night simply cause I thought she would like it.........and she does.

Was super easy with the simplest of simple flowers, might make another for my other (littlest) little girl with a wee bit more thought into the colours of the flowers.

A Right Ol' Tea Cosy

Made up this wee (I mean huge) Tea Cosy over the last few days.
It made using my Tea Cosy Pattern but BIGGER, this will fit a 8 - 10 cup pot comfortably.

All I did was add another round to each granny Square before joining them together - everything else was exactly the same.

Dont you love the bubblegum pink PomPom!!

If I had a Super Power it would be the ability to crochet problems away - not big proper problems like poverty and hunger, but little mundane problems like keeping all my garlic in one place instead of on the bench, window sill, under the onions and wherever else it might be lurking.
So this weekend I used my super power for good, some neon / neutral crochet goodness.

Told ya it was good, now I am thinking I might need a few more of these in differing sizes.

It was so quick to whip up just going around and around and around (and around and around).

So, what shall my Super Name be - Super Crocheter? The Woolly Wonder? The Yarnanator!!............any reference to "hooker is a def NO!!

Catherine Wheel Coasters

Another pattern to add to the arsenal, this time Coasters. Pretty but oh so practical coasters too, these are double layered so super thick and sturdy  "proper coasters" not flimsy at all.

I loved making these up and coming up with little colour pallets for each one, could have gone on forever and made heaps of them, but really how many do you need.
I found this great wooden bowl at the oppy and its just perfect for keeping them in on the coffee table when not in use, makes a great display and the bowl is all rustic and slightly roughed up - love it!
Love them together.

Pretty true to my latest form I made a matching potholder as well.

The pattern is available on facebook, just message me with your email address or available on Esty.

Meandering

One would think that not having the internet for over a week would make me a bit more productive, I would have thought that...... but it didnt feel that way. Turns out it makes me sort of aimless and dithering, moving from one thing to the next not quite finishing and not set with a certain purpose. I have ended up with a lot of half made ideas, but those half made ideas show promise and no doubt you will see some of these come into their own over the next few weeks.

A couple of things I did get finished was a small yarn bomb on a pot plant and another little heart garland - not exactly maximum efficiancy but oh well. (oh and a hell of a lot of granny squares with no set
course as yet.)

GRANNY FLAG BUNTING

My latest pattern has been released into my Etsy Pattern Store.

Granny Flag Bunting - Cute right, I know I love it (and I know I say that about everything, but if I didnt like it I wouldnt be making it right)

Super cute - the orange and white ones remind me of an awning from the front of a vintage florist store.

Whether they are one colour or done in true granny style and multi-coloured I think they look great placed close together like this.

I also hit 1000 likers on facebook this week
"happy dance"
A giveaway will be held on the blog soon to celebrate

Dresden Plate

After pinning a sweet pic on Pinterest it got me wondering whether I would be able to do a crochet version, after nutting it out in my head for the few days I gave it a go.

Version one was not perfect, but it was successful enough to let me know I was onto something.

Version two is definitely better - very happy with this one, like the points? I do, its bigger too.

It has nine petals(?) so its not really round but more of a ........nonagon
(anyone know the word for a nine sided shape).

Adding this to the Patterns list, just a couple more trial runs.

I Heart My Potholder.

I made this wee potholder for myself, but also as an example of things thats could be done with my
Heart Pattern, I have a couple more things up my sleeve too.

The potholder is so cute but its only a oncer I think, just for me. Love the mix of colours - mustard is always a favourite, and its wee, just a bit bigger than a side plate.

I can see a collection beginning here - picturing a little stack of crochet potholders waiting patiently on top of
my vintage style pink scales. YUM.

Granny Heart & Garland Pattern / tutorial now available.

Thanks guys for all the support I get each time I release a pattern, all the positive comments and all those that purchase or even just "like".

My latest pattern is now available on Etsy
The Granny Heart is pretty easy and once you have done a few you will be churning them out really quickly.
Tailored instructions for left and right handed peeps.

The pattern also comes with instructions for turning your hearts into a pretty spunky garland - imagine this in a nursery or behind the Bride and Grooms table.

Will do another post later on in the week showing a couple of other ways to use the hearts - stay tuned.
